The Centralia Swine Research Update (CSRU) and the Mike Wilson Swine Research Day (MWSRD) are merging into one new educational partnership called the University of Guelph Swine Research Day. The merging of these two informative and long standing programs is in response to requests from the Ontario pork industry to reduce the number of education events, to allow for the combination of resources, and to carry on with the tradition of providing valuable Ontario swine research results to the industry. The CSRU and MWSRD will no longer operate as separate entities but now as a combined educational event called the University of Guelph Swine Research Day.

This new one-day program will highlight Ontario swine research and will carry on with the traditions of both CSRU and MWSRD such as high profile guest speakers, short updates on current swine research, written proceedings, opportunities for networking, and of course, a great noon meal. In tribute to the CSRU a graduate student oral and poster competition will be introduced at the new event and there will be a keynote lecture in tribute to the MWSRD. A new website is under development which will house all future proceedings as well as archive past proceedings from the CSRU. Updates on the status of the new website will be shared as it is developed. Additionally, there will be no fee to attend the University of Guelph Swine Research Day to those involved in the Ontario pork industry.
